Redhat Linux web-servers Our Redhat Linux servers are based on the latest version of Redhat, with Apache web-server and support for Perl, PHP and Python scripting. Full telnet access is provided as standard for domains hosted on our Linux Servers, while FrontPage extensions are available. E-mail virus scanning We can provide automatic virus scanning (powered by MacAfee) of all e-mail sent to a domain range. The virus scanning operates on the border of the network and incoming messages are checked before they reach any inbox. Infrastructure The data centre has been heavily invested in: security and reliability, with features such as Advanced Fire Suppression Systems, Denco Environmental Climate Control, back-up generators and APC UPS to protect service. Meanwhile, CCTV, access systems and security guards are in operation to safeguard the centre and a talented team of Internet engineers monitors the service 24-7. Connectivity is provided by two companies, Telewest and Cable & Wireless, reducing the risk to you, in the unlikely event that either should experience network problems. The two lines are routed separately into the building for extra reliability. What’s more, the bandwidth can burst up to more than 1GB/s instantly at the flick of a switch, ensuring we can grow with your needs. We only use rack-optimised Dell servers. By standardising our technologies on these high-quality machines, we can raise our levels of expertise, keep a ready inventory of spares and be able to respond to faults quickly.
