FAIS Direct - How does it work?
Every business is unique in its operational procedures, even within the same industry space. That’s why FAIS is built to fit around your business processes. However, the description below gives an overview of how the product can operate.

FAIS Direct works by collecting the data used to make credit decisions from an applicant into a form on a web browser. As the data is entered FAIS makes decisions about the relevant questions to ask next based on your business rules e.g., asking for a previous address if time at the current address is less than 3 years. Each piece of data is validated and the user prompted for the next step in the application process.

Using an encrypted communication channel from your web browser the applicant’s data is transmitted over the Internet to the FAIS secure server and database. Your processing centre is notified that a new application is received whilst the agreement information is automatically activated in your back office administration engine (or according to your business process).

When the processing centre have ratified the application decision, it is transmitted to the branch where the completed application form prints for customer signatures. The broker/branch/store can then allow the release of funds or goods.
